Got questions? I am here to help!
Q: I've written my book. Now what?
A: If you want to self-publish, check out the order of services listed on the Services page. Some of these steps you can skip (like if you've already finished your manuscript, you don't need a critique partner!), but these steps should be done in the order they are listed.
If your book is anything EXCEPT a picture book, you can work on getting a cover anytime. (A professional cover is just as important as a professional editor.) If you have a picture book, you should wait until all the editing is complete before having an illustrator begin.
The last thing before publishing is formatting. Some editors do this (I do not, as it's a completely different skill I never mastered!), and some people offer formatting but not editing. If you have a picture book, often the illustrator will also do the formatting.

Q: What if I'm not finished with my manuscript yet?
A: No problem! Send me your expected number of words. If you have no clue how many words you will end up with, send me a message letting me know, and I can definitely work with you.
Q: Do you offer a payment plan?
A: Yes! I usually ask for partial payment up front, and we can work out a schedule for the remainder. Each project gets its own unique price quote, so please email me with your project details, and we can get started on a plan for you.
Q: What if I don't agree with your feedback? Do I get a refund?
A: Unfortunately, no refunds are given. However, I do offer a sample edit when requested so you can see what kind of feedback to expect.
Q: If I don't understand your feedback, can I contact you to elaborate?
A: For beta read feedback, there is a fine line between clarification and delving into a developmental edit, and for this reason, we will only provide limited clarification for beta reads. For other types of editing or writing services, clarification is part of the process. Please ask! I would rather continue the conversation than have you confused and frustrated.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes! Once in a while, I will run a pop-up discount. I don't usually plan these in advance and don't offer it for long, so follow me on facebook to keep "in the know" about this! Also, if you have already received an edit from me and send me a review, I will send you a one-time use code for 10% off your next purchase over $100.
Q: How long will each round of editing take?
A: I usually take two weeks per round of editing; however, each project is unique and I may ask for more time or finish more quickly than two weeks. I do have an expedited service available to guarantee faster return.
Q: How do I know you won't steal my book idea if I send you my entire manuscript?
A: I have too many book ideas of my own to steal anyone else's! On a more serious note, though, I do include an NDA in my contracts.
